The upcoming film "It's You" will showcase a predominantly Native American cast and will be primarily filmed on tribal lands. According to Rippenkroeger, the film was written specifically for Donovan, who has a deep love for animals and a unique sense of humor that audiences have yet to fully experience.

Tad Griffith, a legendary champion horse trick rider, will be in charge of coordinating stunts and designing all action and animal sequences. Rippenkroeger serves as writer, executive producer and director. Trevor Donovan will also produce through UglyMugg Productions alongside Michael Yanni.

Donovan recently completed a successful first season of Dancing with the Stars on Disney Plus. Despite having no prior dance experience, he quickly became a fan favorite and made it to the semi-finals. He is also known for his series regular role as Teddy Montgomery on the CW series 90210. Donovan's next project is the Reagan Movie, in which he will star alongside Dennis Quaid.

"It’s You" is described as a fish out of water comedy where Donovan will play an animal chiropractor who is injured in a freak accident and awakens on an Indian reservation in 1881. Once the reality sinks in, Donovan’s character attempts to earn the respect of the tribe members, most notably the chief’s attractive daughter,

resulting in hilarity along the way.

In addition to his acting career, Donovan is also a passionate advocate for anti-bullying through his organization, Team Upstanders. The program partners with schools to educate students on identifying and preventing bullying, and encourages them to take a stand against bullies. He is represented by Michael Yanni at Good Shepherd Management.
